Arab Spring in Egypt

On January 25th 2011, nine years ago, thousands of Egyptians protested in response to the deteriorating political, economic and social situation in the country, and against the policies of the Ministry of Interior. This was the very first uprising of the Arab spring in Egypt.

MAPS photographers Dominic Nahr and Massimo Berruti photographed the early years of this revolution. On the occasion of the ninth anniversary of this historic event, we looked back at the unfolding situation in Egypt, captured by these photographers.
