Alice Dewert is a freelance journalist, photographer and videographer specializing in contemporary international geopolitics and concerned by social issues. Her field of interest extends from Morocco to Pakistan, Egypt and Iran. In these often wounded, even bruised, territories, she seeks the sparks of life and reasons for hope, with the human being always at the centre and daily life as the common thread.
Between 2016 and 2018, she produced the video story "Birzeit: Hopes of an educated youth" which looks at the significance and importance of higher education in the West Bank.
In the summer of 2018, she travelled to Syria to document the consequences of the civil war and carry out several long-term projects there. In the same year she began learning Arabic and began a university course entitled "Islam and Muslims in Europe: Historical Perspectives and Contemporary Challenges".Less
